Tavern and Inn
Within a block of each other, they are in relatively safe part of the city. Violence isn't tolerated, and anyone breaking that rule will get kicked out or hit on the head with a spatula, and trust us, it hurts. The local tavern is the general meeting place for just about anyone. Loud, with plenty of music, it's a great place to come for a good time. Need to rest? The two story inn is a pleasant little place. There's no kitchen though, so you'll have to go to the Tavern for dinner.
Owner (to both): Catherine Lafayette
Bartender: (Open)
Town Streets
Just a place where everyone is welcome to wander. There are a lot of houses on this street, crowded and busy. You're likely to find anyone and everything on these streets, at any hour in the day...or the night. Almost every house has a ladder onto the roof, and there are as many people on the 'streets' up there as there are on the ground.
Town Square
Whether it's for big events, celebrations, or just everyday happenings, this is the place to be. Most of the shops are located in or around the square. It's very large and open when empty, but it is normally so crammed full of merchant stalls, barterers, traders, and entertainers that it seems smaller than it is.
Castle and Noble Streets
If you wish to speak to the monarch, or simply visit the grand castle, here it is. Take a tour. Visit the gardens. Councils are held here, as are balls and parties and grand feasts. The castle is surrounded by the noble streets...elaborate and beautiful. The houses are large and refine, with courtyards and balconies, guards and gates.
Ciardha
Located next to Shay'zrenth, it's one of the poorest cities in the country, filled with peasants, laborers, beggars, etc. Despite this, the The Academy is here, a school open to everyone. There is also the Shadow Temple, looking like a dark Gothic cathedral, with towering spikes and elaborate detail, most of which is hard to see unless you're very close.
Outskirts
Long, open fields that, depending on the direction you go, lead either to mountains, the ocean, or a thick forest that begins right at the outskirts of the capital. There are also training grounds.
Coppera Port
Coppera is a quaint little city with a beautiful beach. It has no temple, but it does boast to being the only seaport in all of Shay'zrenth. Mostly a fishing town, the people here trade often with other cities (or countries).
Haymir
This city, located in the east, is the richest. It is busy during the day, but not as much during the night. Everything is made of a sun-washed white stone, including the Light Temple. The windows are filled with beautiful and complex stained glass windows that sparkle in any weather condition. Tall, imposing, and almost blindingly bright to look at....but what else would a Temple of Light be?
Taloc
It's a rather busy city due to being so close to Shay'zrenth and because it holds the Healer Hall. Inside of the forest, it is slightly difficult to find. The Earth temple looks like the oldest of the temples. It is made of cracked and crumpled stone, which is hard to see under the many vines, trees, and flowers that cover it. Most of the rooms have no roof, making it seem more like a series of beautiful courtyards.
Miyim
Located west of Shay'zrenth, near Lake Miyim. The people of Miyim tend to keep to themselves, a rather mysterious group of people. It helps, of course, that most of them are seers. For you see, the water in the lake has a peculiar side effect, people who drink it often have visions. As for the Water Temple, it is made transparent glass and blue stone, quite literally reflecting its element. It floats quietly in the center of Miyim's lake, and the path to it is slightly submerged.
Makani
Farthest from Shay'zrenth, this city is situated on the opposite side of the mountains. Getting there means crossing forests, rivers, and tall mountains, so people rarely visit Makani. Reaching the Wind Temple requires quite a climb...and it doesn't end even after you arrive. It hums and sings with the constant tune of whistling winds as they dart in and out of the hundreds of oddly-shaped windows, headed in any and all directions. The temple is vertical rather than horizontal. Watch your step!
Oneado
Up in the mountains, this mining city is famous for its metalworking. Oneado is low enough that it remains warm...though this might be partially due to the Fire Temple being situated so close. Smoldering, smoking, and filled with flame, the temple is really only for the risk-takers at heart. To some, it looks imposing, made entirely out of hot metal. To others, its a masterpiece, standing higher than any other building in Oneado.
Mankol River
The lifeline for the country, the beautiful river is filled with various creatures, including symbiotes, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses. Cities and towns are settled all along it, including Moricca, Pantu, and Isiris Port.
Pantu is in the north, but that doesn't make it easy to find. The city is overrun with gypsies. Most don't mind because the gypsies the city a lot of good.
Ships set sail from Isiris Port. Their mission: fishing, trading, and exploring. The small but important city is hard to reach by land.
Nayru
A major city near the Malkan Pass, sitting close to Shayz'renth and Manti. One of the few cities in this country that is accessible by everyone, it's often filled with a variety of people. For the most part, it's used for trading.
Moricca
The capital of Kolshtak. It's complete with a castle, town square, tavern, inn, housing, etc. Of course getting there is rough. Only natives and experienced (or lucky) travelers can find it.
Desert
The rest of Kolshtak is filled with sand. The competition for water and shelter is huge, but many have found a way to work together to survive. Smaller cities are usually isolated.
Osira
Being build by elves who wanted to be sure it kept a natural feel, Manti's capital is filled with trees, flowers, small lakes, rivers, etc. The city even has a couple habitats, one with birds from all over the continent and another with beautiful insects.
Raiya
They may be hard to reach in the mountains, but they've extended their arms with many trade routes and trading posts. This city has managed to trade weapons and armor with many countries, even with a couple clans in Pyroose.
Anubyu
The city keeps to itself. Full of elves, they are not welcoming to strangers, no matter what species. They make some of the finest tools, but good luck to anyone trying to trade for them.
Choca
The poor city scratches up a living each year. They are welcoming to anyone who comes though, especially anyone who has money and might leave a little of it behind.
Lalan
The capital of Lalan'ay is an art form. The city is decorated in gold, bronze, and jewels, but mostly in silver. No other city has spent so much in decoration, and the city takes pride in that.
Pintaminu
This northern city gets the harsh of winter, and being close to the border of Pyroose, it's not unknown for them to be raided. Being so isolated from the rest of the country, they are pretty much on their own.
Lariyat Lake
The large lake is surrounded by a small settlements. The fresh water is used for everything, swimming, fishing, boating, etc. Many lives depend on it.
Illonos
Settled fairly close to Lariyat Lake, this city has found to make a good living off it, or rather, the nobles have found a good way, and their homes and clothes show it off. The poor, who actually do the work, are given small rewards for hiding whenever someone important visits.
Kaltil
No one is really sure why Pyroose established it's capital so far from the other countries. It's rumored that only those who can make it without dying are the only ones that Pyroosians consider worthy of getting there. The city has everything that the other capitals have, except for a castle since there is no ruler.
Rural
The rest of Pyroose is either covered in mountainous forest or the mostly deserted tundra. Dangers come from the freezing environment and the barbaric people. There's also the Tanila Sea, a huge body of salty water. Several clans migrate around it.
Ecaep Clan
One of the few peaceful clans in Pyroose. Due to the recent alliance with the Fire Clan, they keep up a constant communication with the larger clan.
Albanin Clan
The Albanin have many abilities, though they are mostly known for being shrewd businessmen and for their ability to train horses. They move around Kolshtak, Shayz'renth, and Manti. Read more about them in the Kolshtak page.
