[blockquote]The world seemed to be changing. What once was was being replaced with what is, the past crumbling as the future made it's vibrant mark upon the world. During such past times, there was less fighting; and over all peace, or what most people considered to be peace. There seemed to be two kingdoms constantly clashing for power, it was the adaptive humans, the northern woodland elves and the western dragon kin. These three species had an equality of balance, that was of course before the humans began to do what they did best.
It was then that the humans also began to expand their empire, conquering and dominating other species and kingdoms leaving nothing in but destruction in their wake. Still the kingdoms struggled and kept their empires strong, until of course..
The assassination..
It was the elf king. A proud and dominate force in the northern hemisphere, his assassination meant the destruction of the elf race. Or so the arrogant humans thought, once the king's decapitated head had been driven through a spike and placed at the now devastated castle of the elves. All of their homes and farms were put to the torch. They only survived because of their vast knowledge of the land, and their helpful but small amounts of magic. They escaped into the southern tip of the kingdom, well hidden and safe from harm where they could thrive. The humans, having no knowledge of such an escape continued their conquest. With no allies to make the dragon kin stronger, they were susceptible to weakness. Of course they were not without strength.

With no one to stand against the humans, they became a powerful empire, ruling the free world in a time of prosperity, but that would not last long. In a world of hesitant senators, and a weakening central government, it would only be a matter of time before the empire began to fall.
There was another factor against them, one that they had yet to learn about. Elves and Dragon kin had allied, in secrecy, forming an alliance of assassins and warriors in which to fight the king and his corrupted land.
Who will you join?
Will you be strong enough to occupy the body of a warrior and raise your sword toward the empire?
Or will you be destroyed in the fires of hell?
Can you stand the scorch of branded by blood?
