Maximillian's name is an old one in his family. The Matthias family is a wealthy one based in the capital of Lalan'ay, Lalan. His given name was his great-grandfather's and his grandfather's. Maximillian's middle name, Alexandros, is his father's name.

Maximillian, is a handsome man, well built, with curious charcoal gray hair, despite his age. He is six feet two inches tall, with broad shoulders, giving him a slightly imposing look. His eyes are a piercing gray-blue, complimented by long, dark eyelashes.
Maximillian enjoys dressing well, and is quite vain on most occasions; though, he tries not to show it. You will always find him looking, if not his best, then at least quite good.
Personality
Maximillian is a very proud man, who holds himself with much confidence. Because of this, many assume that he is arrogant, but that is not the case. Maximillian is actually a very laid-back guy, who is willing to converse with just about anyone. He is highly intelligent, being well schooled due to his family's wealth, and he appreciates conversations about politics and philosophy -- but only with other intelligent and well-learned people. Otherwise, he sees little point in such conversations, as he can't stand people who don't know what they're talking about, but believe that they do. Maximillian, being so laid-back and calm all the time, can also appear to be lazy; which is both true and false. If Maximillian doesn't see the point in doing something, he doesn't do it, simple as that. Conversely, if he feels that something is important enough for him to direct his attention towards, he will do it without hesitation, and will spend all of his energy working toward whatever goal he might have.
Maximillian is also a very flirtatious and charming man. He enjoys socializing with many people, but he has high standards, so he only associates with certain people. He does not care what class a person comes from, rather he is more concerned with how intelligent and charming a person is; and of course, he certainly cares how attractive they are. Due to this he has a large amount of acquaintances and friends who are of reliable character, which Maximillian is very proud of.

Maximillian's parents are both now deceased. Their names: Kamilla and Alexandros. They ran a very successful trading business centered in Lalan, which is now run by Maximillian's older sister, Jolana, and their younger brother, Valentin. Maximillian keeps in touch with both Jolana and Valentin often.

Maximillian is a fairly skilled in the use of Shield magic, allowing him to defend himself and others quite well. He is also quite useful with all sorts of blades; though, he prefers to use rapier type swords among all others. He has working knowledge of how to use a bow, but he isn't great at wielding one, preferring to use his magic as his long-range means of attack, or defense. Maximillian is a very intelligent and articulate man, so he always attempts to resolve conflict with parley before resorting to force. Though, if it involves the security of the King, or of Lalan'ay, he will not hesitate to destroy those who refuse to listen to reason.

Home
Maximillian's home is something that is far from humble. In the spirit of the home he grew up in, his house is very large. It is two stories, and is 36,000 square feet, with many rooms. It is decorated lavishly inside and out, taking after the rest of Lalan.
